Stevedores’ strike at Togo Terminal
Employees at Togo Terminal (stevedores company) have been on strike since Friday (22 March). Togo Terminal has the monopoly in handling containers at Lome port.

Marine Site Investigation
According to the Hong Kong SAR Marine Department Notice No. 40 of 2013, marine site investigation works will be carried out with immediate effect and for a period of 2 weeks at Pui O Wan, South of Lantau Island.
Marine site investigation works involving drilling of boreholes will be carried out in the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (E):
(A) 22° 14.336’N / 113° 58.223’E
(B) 22° 14.329’N / 113° 58.310’E
(C) 22° 13.745’N / 113° 58.020’E
(D) 22° 13.799’N / 113° 57.904’E
(E) 22° 14.275’N / 113° 58.130’E
The works will be carried out by two flat top barges. One tug and one motor boat will provide assistance.
A working area of approximately 50 metres will be established around the barges. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the barges.
The hours of work will be from 0700 to 1900 hours. No work will be carried out on Sundays and public holidays. Vessels employed for the outside the hours of work.
Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.
Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.

Port Kembla temporary reduction to Channel depth
The Channel depth at Port Kembla has been temporarily reduced from 15.15m to 15m and the revise MSD is 15.0m + tide/ 1.08.
Port Authority has commenced remediation action and will advise once the depth returns to normal.

Updated promulgated depth notice for the Port of Newcastle
The Newcastle Port Corporation stated in its letter dated 22 March that the Channel depth was reduced to 14.30m metres due to the silt accumulated from the recent floods.
As at 1134 on 24 March 2013 (Sunday), the Harbour Master of Port of Newcastle has declared the depth in the horseshoe as 14.60 metres. This is an increase in channel depth of 0.30m.
The Port Dredging will continue to restore the Harbour Channel to a depth of 15.20m at zero tide.
