Repositioning of buoys
Buoys 8 & 10 will be shifted 200m away and perpendicular to the centre line
of the channel to facilitate the ongoing maintenance dredging of the
channel.
Temporary coordinates of these buoys will be:
Buoy 8
4 deg. 16’11.83″N / 7 deg. 2′ 32.60″
Buoy 10
4 deg. 17′ 7.01″N / 7 deg. 3′ 9.14″
Accordingly, the lights of these buoys in question will be temprarily
switched off. The lights will be switched on again once the buoys are
shifted back to their permanent position.
All mariners are advised to navigate with caution and observe applicable
IMO regulations.

Buoys 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 43, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, 52, 53, 78, 79, 81,
83, FOT1 and LB1 [at Bonny/Onne] have been repositioned….
….Also note that the colour of LB1 has been changed from Red/White (Mid
Channel buoy) to Green (Starboard buoy) light and Rhythm changed from LFL
(W) 1osec to F1 (G) 4 sec.

Slow Bell Safety Advisory for dredging operations
A slow bell is requested for Southwest Pass from Head of Passes Mile 0.0 to
the Lower Jetty and Bar Channel, and the Mississippi River from Head of
Passes to Mile 10.5 above Head of Passes. Operations will continue 24 hours
a day.
This request is extending dredging operations for the dredges Bayport and
Newport from July 10, 2013 until August 31, 2013.
All mariners are requested to transit at their slowest safe speed and use
caution when transiting within the area.

North Queensland Bulk Ports Limited (NQBP) has reviewed the port charges
for the Port of Mackay and wishes to advise that its Board has approved
revised charges to apply from 1 July 2013.
The list of port charges should be available on NQBP’s website at
www.nqbp.com.au from 1 July 2013.
