The International Underwriting Association’s* Summer Party was more than a success, a reward for the Associations’ team-work through out the year! The event took place at the heart of the Square Mile, off the Monument, at The Walrus & Carpenter ‘s first floor, at the well -known Lewis Dining Room which was meticulous organised by Deborah Finch and her colleagues. With the dining room bursting to its seams – over one hundred guests attending and with a great program of events, guests couldn’t be more than happy!

Champaign on arrival, drinks and excellent dips – canapés… was the name of the game; ah! and networking at its best. A great atmosphere with David Redfearn the Mad Hatter, an unbelievable magician who made everybody feel like a school boy…and a school girl, a Tarot card …reader – couldn’t wait my turn (listed 10th… and left at 20:30hrs) and the Dixie’s Capcakery decorating muffins competition for the best dressed (or perhaps least unappetising) cake the event will be remembered for the years to come. Good performance from all Dixie’ Capcakery girls with congrtas going to Grace Easton and Ellie Hammond Hunt!

So we were all mad there being influenced by the Invite’s little story: “But I don’t want to go among mad people, ” Alice remarked. “Oh you can’t help that, ” said the Cat. “We’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad.” How do you know I’m mad?” said Alice. “You must be.” Said the Cat, or you wouldn’t have come here.”
See you next year!
