LMR closed from HOP to MM-8 AHOP due to sunk vessel
This is to inform that at approximately 1200 HRS local today, the vessel
reportedly took on water and began to sink. After capsizing, the vessel’s
hull could be seen floating near the surface for a short time before
disappearing. The USACE survey boats will aid in determining the exact
location of the vessel in relation to the navigation channel. Once located;
the USCG, working with the pilots will determine if and when navigation can
be restored along with any navigation restrictions that may be required.
