ELECTIONS

A meeting of the Executive Committee of “Hellenic Mediation Association (E.E.D.)”, was held on Wednesday, December 18, 2013, and new Board of Directors was elected, members of which are:
• Katerina Kotsaki, President-Chairman
• Christina Sarantopoulou, A’ Vice President
• Mary Vlachopoulou, B’ Vice President
• Kiriaki Christodoulou, General Secretary
• Nicol Baladis, Deputy General Secretary
• Jenny Pournara- Vardavilia, Treasurer
• Zoi Troulinou, Deputy Treasurer
• Sergios Manarakis, Member
• John Neratzis, Member

The Association’s aim is to develop the spirit of mediation in Greece, the dissemination of same and the continuous updating and training of its members in relation to this new procedure and institution of alternative dispute resolution, and its recognition as a strong and effective instrument to safeguard the interests of Greek Mediators.
Since its establishment in the year 2010, the Association has developed many important activities for this purpose, by organizing, among others, information sessions and well attended seminars, under the proposed Article 4 of PD 123/2011 of the compulsory retraining of Mediators, by the Assocaition’s members’ practice through the “Laboratory Simulation of Mediation” with great success.

EVENTS
The cutting of the New Year’s cake of the Association, took place on Friday, January 24, 2014, at the premises of the European Organization of International Public Law (EPLO) in the centre of Athens. The event was graced by the presence of well known Honorable Judges, Journalists and Professors of Law School of Athens, among of whom, Dr. John Karkalas, Honorable Judge and one of the Directors of the “Academy of Transparency and Human Rights” for the Good Governance of EPLO, Vice Commissioner of State and Journalist Mr. Yiannis Politis , Public Relations of EPLO, and Political Analyst, Instructor in the Department of Communication and Media Studies School O.K.P.E. of the National University of Athens.
