Rock removal and sheet piling work

From 12 March to 12 September, rock removal and sheet piling work will be
carried out on a cofferdam for the proposed construction of a dock at Tuas
New Shipyard, Tuas View Extension (West).

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’s Port Marine
Notice No. 28 of 2014, the works will be conducted between 0700 and 1900
daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – within the working area
bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
A) 1 deg. 15.629’N / 103 deg. 36.560’E
B) 1 deg. 15.389’N / 103 deg. 36.560’E
C) 1 deg. 15.389’N / 103 deg. 36.585’E
D) 1 deg. 15.258’N / 103 deg. 36.585’E
E) 1 deg. 15.258’N / 103 deg. 36.509’E
F) 1 deg. 15.629’N / 103 deg. 36.509’E

Rock removal and sheet piling work will be carried out by one dredger and
two crane barges. A work barge will be used for delivering and storing of
equipment. Tug boats will be used for shifting of barges.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and
international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
(a) keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
(b) maintain a proper lookout;
(c) proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
(d) maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control);
and
(e) communicate with Jurong Control on VHF Channel 22 for assistance, if
required.
