NORFOLK, Va. – April 27, 2015 – (Marine NewsWire) The agenda for the SHIPPINGInsight 2015 Fleet Optimization Conference & Exhibition has been finalized, and keynote speakers have been confirmed.

Now entering its fourth year, SHIPPINGInsight’s annual conference has become established as a not-to-be-missed technical and ship operations conference, exhibition and networking event. It will take place Oct. 13-14 at the Stamford Marriott Hotel in Stamford, Conn.

Michael Wilson, president and chief operating officer of Laurin Maritime (Americas) will serve as conference chairman. The opening keynote speaker for the conference will be Gary Vogel, partner and group CEO of Clipper Group (USA). Session keynoters will be Angus Campbell, managing director of Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement; Paal Johansen, vice president and director of operations, maritime, for DNV GL; and Ronald Spithout, president of Inmarsat Maritime.

The conference agenda will feature three themed sessions: Fuel & Propulsion, Efficient Ships and Ship Telematics. Each session will consist of two panels, followed by an open-discussion roundtable of experts. The second annual SHIPPINGInsight awards will be presented during a Gala Luncheon Oct. 13, to recognize a shipping company and its technology partners for achievements in ship and fleet optimization.

“A key to the success of the SHIPPINGInsight format has been the interaction of shipping company decision makers and technology suppliers, working together collaboratively to bring innovative technical solutions to the challenges of ship operations in the current economic environment, ” said Frank Soccoli, conference co-director. “Already, we have confirmations from more than 25 ship management executives to participate in this year’s conference. In addition to the formal panels and roundtables, our conference format provides ample informal networking opportunities.”

“This is a unique opportunity to broaden your horizons, learn from experts and network with your peers in the international shipping industry, ” said conference co-director, Jim Rhodes. “Our vision is to provide a technology incubator for sharing ideas, strategies, best practices and solutions.”

Last year’s SHIPPINGInsight had 155 registered delegates from 10 countries, with 30 exhibitors, 25 industry sponsors, 70 speakers and 14 networking events. Erny Ottospoor, vice president and technical director of Roymar Shipping, commented on SHIPPINGInsight 2014: “Compelling, finally an event focused on providing shipowners/managers the latest information on actual experience, products and services to optimize fleet performance and compliance while reducing OPEX.”
