Grounded SCF Khibiny refloats itself, heading for destination port of Pascagoula

SCF_KhibinyThe stranded tanker SCF Khibiny on 20 June got afloat without third party assistance and stayed at the anchorage of the port of Istanbul, SCF Group said Tuesday.

No crew members were hurt, and no damage was caused to the vessel or its cargo.

On 22 June, after the vessel received clearance from port authorities and classification society, the SCF Khibiny continued her journey as normal.

The SCF Khibiny will unload her cargo at the Port of Pascagoula, USA.

SCF Group (PAO Sovcomflot) is Russia’s largest shipping company, and one of the global leaders in the maritime transportation of hydrocarbons, as well as the servicing and support of offshore exploration and oil & gas production. The company’s fleet (owned & chartered) specialises in hydrocarbon transportation from regions with challenging icy conditions and includes 153 vessels with a combined deadweight of 12, 852, 079 tonnes with the average age of 7 years. A third of these vessels have a high ice class. The company is registered in St. Petersburg and has offices in Moscow, Novorossiysk, Murmansk, Vladivostok, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, London, Limassol, Madrid, Singapore and Dubai.
