Sinwa Australia, part of Sinwa Global, Asia Pacific’s leading marine, offshore supply and logistics company, recently announced yet further health and safety advances by receiving certification for ISO 4801 & OHSAS 18001.
Although Sinwa Australia already had an extensive safety system incorporated in its ISO 9001:2008, management felt health and safety in the workplace needed to be at the forefront of activities. In developing and implementing ISO 4801 and OHSAS 18001, Sinwa Australia’s safety systems have become more transparent, accountable and are set to the highest measurable standards available.
The certification also means that Sinwa Australia’s clients can be confident that its ISO 4801 and OHSAS 18001 systems not only meet their operational needs, but satisfy the requirements upstream to head contactors; complying with their contract and audit regulations.
“Sinwa offers a complete supply chain solution, covering Western Australia and the Northern Territory, from our own dedicated custom built marine supply and logistics premises – no other supplier in Western Australia and Norther Territory can offer this.” said Sean Haining, Compliance and Contracts Manager. “Currently, with the oil and gas market subdued, competition for market share has intensified and essentially there is very little price difference between suppliers. Therefore, there is more focus on added value; in areas such as delivery of service and support systems – this is where Sinwa Australia surpasses clients’ expectations, and our team will continue to foster current, and develop new relationships, with operators in Australasia in the coming years.”
The Sinwa Group has a network of 13 locations in Singapore, Australia, China, Malaysia and Thailand, serving well over 100 Asia Pacific ports, growing its market share in the supply of a wide range of equipment and provisions to the marine and offshore industry. Sinwa Australia remains purely focused on the marine supply and logistics field, giving its full and undivided attention to the wide range of multinational corporations operating in the region and offering a complete supply chain solution for either short-term or long-term projects.
“With a higher level of compliance required, having certified standards like ISO 9001:2008, HACCP, ISO 4801 and OHSAS 18001, gives Sinwa Australia’s clients piece of mind that they are working with a partner that is committed to providing a consistent high level of service, and complying to the best standards available.” Sean concluded.
