| The Panama Canal continues to experience an increase in vessel backlog, and despite measures taken, the number of vessels awaiting transit has not been reduced to acceptable levels.In response to a growing concern regarding the extended waiting time being experience, Condition 1.a will be implemented effective October 12, 2015.Applications for reserved transits under the above-mentioned condition will be received beginning 0900 hours, October 9, 2015. The booking slot available through the Auction Process, as well as the slots available for vessels less than 300 feet in length, will continue to be offered.The Just-In-Time (JIT) transit service will remain at one (1) for each direction, as oublished in Advisory to Shipping A-31-2015.Condition 1.a will remain in effect until the backlog returns to normal levels.

| Five ports now able to berth foreign-flagged cruise ships |

| Indonesia’s government has given the go-ahead for foreign-flagged cruise ships to stop over in five of the country’s largest ports.Previously, such vessels could only dock at one port, Benoa Bali, and passengers who wished to travel to other ports had to go back to Singapore to do so.As per the Ministry of Transportation Decree 121 No.PM 2015, the five ports which have now been assessed to be able to accommodate and serve foreign cruise ships are: Tanjung Priok/Jakarta, Tanjung Perak/Surabaya, Belawan/Medan, Ujungpandan/Makassar, and Benoa/Bali.For information about operations in Indonesian ports contact PT Andhika GAC at shipping.indonesia@gac.com |

| Engine malfunction closes waterway |

| The Bosphorus was closed to traffic between 11:15 and 12:15 hours local time today (8 October) after a 182m tanker suffered an engine malfunction around the Buyukliman area during its southbound transit.The stricken vessel is now moving to the Ahirkapi anchorage area, assisted by two tugs, and the waterway has reopened to traffic.For information about operations in the Turkish Straits contact GAC Istanbul at turkey@gac.com |
