Captain John B. Dalby
The sitution in the world’s shipping markets and the catastrophe that this crisis brings, are being nicely depicted in Captain John B. Dalby’s letter/message; here he goes:
“As we all know, 2016 has started badly for the drybulk and container markets and is likely to get worse in the coming months. With a forecast downturn in the crude market during the 2nd half of the year, business is looking bleak for many owners.
The impact this will have in both the short and medium term for the shipping banks is both obvious and inevitable. Indeed, we are already receiving invitations from both banks and their lawyers to develop an “in-case” strategy which will allow them to safeguard, protect and – if/when necessary – recover assets (rather than adopting the risky, and financially questionable, tactic of arrest) and maximise the financial recovery.
As you know, MRM has been in the forefront of the Maritime Asset Recovery business since 1989 – 26 years of professional, discreet and successful service to banks and their legal advisors with whom we work very closely and at a global level, often operating in hostile environments (in terms of geographical location and crew discontent).
What sets us aside from other so-called asset recovery operates is the manner in which we operate; our professionally qualified, former seafaring Superintendents (which allows us to assume lawful command of any vessel), who can talk to crew and port staff alike in their own language (i.e. that of the international seafaring/maritime community) and be seen to be credible, knowledgeable and – quite literally – “in command” of the situation.
Together with our Asset Recovery partners – Bibby Ship Management – we can confidently offer a total 100% turn-key solution or, alternatively, simply recover your vessel/s and re-locate them to a favourable and sympathetic jurisdiction.
For more details, please feel free to get in touch. A preliminary, and highly confidential, meeting to explore possible solutions and strategies (including multi-vessel, fleet operations) is offered without obligation.
At MRM we pride ourselves on our reliability, professionalism and cost-effectiveness, and look forward to helping you resolve difficult, complex and dynamic situations to maximise your recovery in a practical and discreet manner.
Best regards
John Dalby
