Installation of floating sea barrier in Selat Sengkir

From 1 April to 30 September, work will be carried out to install a floating sea barrier at Selat Sengkir.
According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.029 of 2019, the work will be conducted 24 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – within the working area bounded by the following coordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1. 1 deg. 15.499’N / 103 deg. 49.528’E
2. 1 deg. 15.324’N / 103 deg. 49.526’E
3. 1 deg. 15.356’N / 103 deg. 49.471’E
4. 1 deg. 15.565’N / 103 deg. 49.473’E
Installation of floating sea barrier will be carried out using crane and work barges. These barges will be assisted by tugs. Safety boats will be deployed to warn other craft in the vicinity of the working area.
Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.
When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 18 (Keppel Control);
e) Communicate with Keppel Control on VHF Channel 18 for assistance, if required.

Establishment of Restricted Area off Central and Western District Promenade

A restricted area will be established between 0800 hours on 2 April 2019 and 2200 hours on 7 April 2019, in Victoria Harbour off Central and Western District Promenade to facilitate the functions in connection to the Hong Kong Sevens 2019. An inflatable rubber rugby ball will be displayed onboard two flat-top work barges inside the restricted area during the period mentioned above.
The restricted area is formed by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (D) and the adjacent shoreline:
(A) 22 deg. 17.060’N / 114 deg. 09.794’E
(B) 22 deg. 17.044’N / 114 deg. 09.837’E
(C) 22 deg. 17.078’N / 114 deg. 09.852’E
(D) 22 deg. 17.095’N / 114 deg. 09.809’E
During the aforementioned period, no vessel, other than Government launches, will be allowed to enter or remain within the restricted area. All vessels navigating in the vicinity should keep away from the restricted area.

Garbage removal at port reception facility

Entry of ships into Visakhapatnam harbor shall be allowed only upon filling up of requisite data in the Advance Notification Form in the D.G. Shipping – Swachh Sagar web portal (prf.irclass.net), even though Port Reception facilities are not used.
It is mandatory for every vessel to deliver the garbage generated onboard to the port reception facility operated by the licensed vendors, at least once during her stay at the port/anchorage, failing which, a fine at the rate prescribed or handling more than 2 M³ for the respective location shall be levied.
The tariff for removal of garbage from the ships shall be as per the following revised rates:
1) All berths
Up to 2 M³: Rs 3,000/-
More than 2 M³: Rs 5,000/-
2) LPG berth while transporting by truck
Up to 2 M³: Rs 4,000/-
More than 2 M³: Rs 6,000/-
3) Anchorage or SPM
Up to 2 M³: Rs 5,000/-
More than 2 M³: Rs 7,000/-
Additionally, for OSTT/LPG/Anchorage/SPM, boat service for removal of garbage has to be arranged by the respective ship’s agents separately.
