Capes’ triple-digit fall continues; geopolitics sour…

The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) was down 22 points earlier on today and now stands at 1,712; Geopolitics getting sour all over Planet Ocean. John Faraclas’ brief daily recap:

The Capes’ BCI might go below the 3,000 points if the daily triple-digit fall continues. Today the losses were 131 points and the BCI reads 3,171… CAUTION.

The Panamaxes’ BPI on the other hand rose to 32 points and now stands at 1791 and if the positive trend continues the 1,800 points will be surpassed…

Just a point down for the Supras’ BSI,  now at 955…

The Handies’ BHSI clinched a point and now reads 520…

Once again mixed feelings for the Wets; the last published BDTI (Dirty) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 626 – up nine and 498 – minus three points respectively.

The WTI stood …down at US$ 51.09 (23:00 BST). Yesterday it stood at US$ 53.63, that’s US$ 2.54 down!! Any chance to see same below the US$ 60?

Geopolitics as said in the preamble are sour:

Still the MIGRANTS maintain the top position of importance in our news; we insist that this issue MUST be resolved and we want to know why the EU and NATO do not opt for the Naval Blockade with a Mandate and Rules of Engagement. As we can observe from the news coming in not all countries agree with the return of the MIGANTS back from where they come from…. Turkey leads the way in sending more over to the EU! Any objection?  We are in the high touristic season in the Med and Spain, Italy, Malta, Greece and Cyprus suffer…

Turkey continues to violate the Cypriot as well as European EEZ with its drilling and exploration vessels all of which are escorted by Turkish Naval ships, and the EU must become drastically tough and even intervene before Brussels regret the mess-to-be there. NATO should intervene too.

Turkey continues to blackmail everybody and this can be seen by the Turkish stance with the USA over the negos with respect a protective zone to stop Kurdish militias who assisted the USA and its allies in winning over the notorious islamists of ISIS whilst everybody know that in reality Turkey was, is and will continue to be pro-ISIS. No one can be fouled anymore by Erdogan and his likes. Justice must shine. The S-400 and the F-35’s saga must end. All the excuses we here unfortunately from both sides they don’t have a leg to stand. Meantime Russia plays a pivotal role over Syria… Turkey’s axis so to speak with Russia and Iran is dangerous for the entire region and the Turks wish to destabilise the entire Balkans; their intentions are very clear coupled with religion.

Are we going to see NATO naval patrols in the Straits of Hormuz? We need to protect human lives at sea!! End of the story!!

Iraq gets the wrath of Turkish forces which intrude to take up on the Kurds in Kurdistan – this is how the area is being called by many…

Greece next door is on stand-by given the Turkish threats of drilling within Greece’s EEZ. CAUTION

In Italy we hear cracks in the coalition and we might see even elections…

BREXIT as we have said and wrote in the fists place will turn Planet Ocean upside down… We hope not to be proven verbatim right, but as things stand expect mess… The worse is that non is ready for either a proper nor a no-deal Brexit….Watch out for Ireland and Northern Irelands position as well as that of Scotland…a peaceful climate and avoid an upturn there…

At the other side of the Atlantic and in particular in the USA president Trump is faced with big dilemmas following the double massacre in El Paso and Dayton… Let’s see how he can create Peace there as well as to the entire USA given the importance on the Gun Law… CAUTION

In Hong Kong semi-social upturn might get off hand… tomorrow is another day so watch this space… Let’s see what the demonstrators will do… CAUTION

India and Pakistan might opt for a messy confrontation… CAUTION as it’s not nice to play with nukes… In the previous three wars amongst these two arch rivals, two were for Kashmir! Things are moving very fast and we eagerly await tomorrow to see the situ closer and clearer… Kashmir is the Subcontinents Yellowstone so to speak; if it erupts it will be hell… Shipping will also be affected…

Young swimmers waiting their turn to compete

It was also the third consecutive year that we had masters races. Good to see Markos Tripolitis, Antonis Pitsilos and others from the old guard and also members of the Chios Marine Club present, cousins Antonis Faraklas  with his daughter Anthi taking part in the games, Matthaios A. Fafalios and many other compatriots and relatives.

We sincerely hope that more athletes will take part next years as well as more sponsors and supporters as well as other charities will contribute to this event. Well Done!
