The future of travel marketing

2019 saw the highest exhibitor numbers attend WTM London since its launch in 1980.

Maybe you were there. I was.

I remember standing in the ExCeL and feeling immensely proud to be a part of such an important event for the travel and leisure industry.

You don’t need me to tell you things are different this year.

It’s no secret the travel and leisure industries have been hit harder than most.

I’ve had countless conversations with our partners and industry leaders from around the globe over the past few months, and I’m yet to speak with someone who’s not been majorly impacted.

Due to government guidelines and the safety of everyone involved, we were forced to make the incredibly difficult decision to change the way we run the event this year – for the first time since its inception in 1980.

But, for us, knowing the hardship the whole industry is facing, cancelling wasn’t an option.

That’s why we’re running WTM London as a fully virtual event for the first time ever.

We’ve invested heavily in a specialist platform that will enable us to deliver the full WTM London experience, safely.

I sat down with my team a few weeks ago in one of our regular planning meetings to discuss how we could best leverage the platform to deliver the maximum possible value to you.

How we could help to provide clarity. Provide solutions. Provide a path forward.

As a result, we’ve invited a small group of the world’s leading marketing experts to put together some virtual sessions on the future of travel marketing.

Sessions:
The Future of Travel Marketing
Friday 30th October 10.00 – 12.00 GMTYour 2021 Vision
Monday 9th November – 10.00 – 11.00 GMTMarcus Murphy, the CEO of The Five Percent, who we’ve partnered with for this training, has recorded a video explaining who they are and how they can help your business. Our criteria for this session was to strictly bring in experts who could share advice and predictions from their own practical experience.

Those who were on the frontline of marketing. Not theorists.

Now, I’m not so naive as to say this is going to solve the industry’s problems overnight.

You and I both know that’s not possible.

But these sessions are about understanding what’s actually working right now from people who are in the trenches doing the work and seeing results, and what the next 12-24 months are likely to look like.

We look forward to welcoming you to WTM Virtual
