The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) regained the 3,200 points threshold by clinching 57 points since last Friday the 7th of May 2021 and now reads 3,240. Cleans “bounced” back but uncertainty is still there with the Dirties falling. The Migrants and the Middle East dominate turbulent Geopolitics whilst Covid-19 spreads further due to lack of leadership in WHO or the Business Hooligans with their spin doctors thrive vis-a-vis the Vaccine’s issue. The Capes’ BCI gained 103 points going over and above the 5,109 points and now read 5,109…
The Panamaxes too surpassed the 3,000 points threshold and now the BPI stand at 3,014 points…
The Supras’ BSI complete the hat-trick gaining 20 points and going over the 2,200 points threshold… standing now at 2,216 points…
Ah! A minor error we had a haul as the fourth dry index, that of the Handies’ BHSI was also surpassing the 1,203 points threshold standing at 1,203!
All in all a buoyant Dry Market… still we feel that we must be alerted as events in Geopolitics, Recession and Covid might turn this Dry upwards trend nasty…
The Wets still an enigma; the last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 605 – minus two and 502 – plus 30 points respectively; the latter surprised analysts as same surpassed the 500 points life-line so to speak threshold… C A U T I O N!
