Mark Warner (pictured above) has been appointed as the new Head of Marketing for Lloyd’s Register’s (LR) Maritime Performance Services (MPS) business, which brings together LR’s professional services, fleet management, fleet optimisation and its Maritime Training Academy.

Reporting to Chief Marketing Officer Philippa Charlton, Mark will drive the marketing strategy for the MPS business, positioning LR as a trusted advisor to clients across the maritime industry, helping them safely, sustainably and efficiently transition through the regulatory, societal and technical challenges in the years ahead.

Joining LR from satellite company Inmarsat, Mark has spent the last five years as Senior Director of Marketing and Public Relations. Over the last 20 years, Mark has amassed a wealth of experience in the maritime industry working for companies such as ShipServ and Informa. He also holds an MSc in International Logistics and a BSc in Maritime Business & Law. While at the University of Plymouth, Mark served five years in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Mark Warner, new Head of Marketing for LR Maritime Performance Services, said: “This is an exciting time for maritime as the industry tackles the challenges associated with decarbonisation and digitalisation. I am excited to be joining the Lloyd’s Register team and supporting clients through this transformation, utilising experience, skills and expertise I have gained in maritime over the last two decades.”

LR’s Chief Marketing Officer, Philippa Charlton, commented on the appointment: “Mark’s addition to Lloyd’s Register’s global marketing community is a key part of LR’s growth strategy to become a go-to partner and adviser on compliance, performance and sustainability to the maritime industry and broader ocean economy. We’re building up our team of experts and investing in our people so we can develop a truly differentiated offering for our clients across LR’s global customer base.”

Andy McKeran, LR Maritime Performance Services Director, added: “I’m thrilled that Mark has joined Lloyd’s Register to help drive the growth of our Maritime Performance Services business. We are in an age of constant change, and this is another key strategic milestone as we strengthen and invest in our maritime offering, helping industry stakeholders navigate the challenges ahead with our technical advice and sector expertise.”
