
The 40th Donald O’May Annual Lecture took place earlier on tonight at the iconic Great Hall of The Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn in London.
It was the 40th Anniversary for both the Institute of Maritime Law at the University of Southampton and the Donald O’May Annual Lecture in Maritime Law and was the first time since 2019 for the institute to be able to return to a large scale in person event.
The event was introduced by the Vice President of the University of Southampton Mark Spearing
and chaired by Julian Clark, Ince, Global Senior Partner (Maritime).
The speaker was Andrew Kennedy, Barrister, Lloyd’s Register Group, Head of Dispute Resolution & Compliance (Barrister); his speech was titled: “The Common Law and Civil Law Approaches to a Duty of Care: A classification society perspective and comparison”
