The new Marina, set to be a star feature of Dover’s vibrant new waterfront, will open permanently on 1st April 2023
Known as the “Outer Marina”, a variety of leisure vessels will be moored in front of the stunning backdrop of the White Cliffs, Dover Castle and seafront. Situated next to the fantastic facilities and local food and drink available on Clock Tower Square, the new site will provide berth holders and visitors with the perfect destination to soak up local culture this spring.
Jason Ransley, Head of Property at the Port of Dover said:
“The team has worked tirelessly to ensure that the grand opening of the Marina provides our berth holders with unrivalled facilities and the opportunity to relax, and the community with a place that breathes local history and charm.
It’s been exciting to see the waterfront developing over the past few years, and I’m delighted that one of the final and most prominent pieces of the jigsaw will be here for everyone to enjoy soon.”
Chris Windsor, Marina Manager added:
“It will be a very proud day to see the new Marina take pride of place on the seafront. We have worked hard over the years to ensure that the facilities are at their best and any challenges are overcome so that our berth holders can take full advantage of their new home.
Things have accelerated recently with the opening of the new boatyard, Marina office, Marina Curve and berth trials. We can’t wait to see the full site operating very soon.”
Work will begin soon on `The Electric Motel’ hotel, café and bar on the Marina Curve, as well as a developing entertainment programme of music and events. All features of the new marina and waterfront have been built around a sustainable mixed-use scheme, with the Motel being supported by “off-grid” green energy.
