First-ever Demo Day for global maritime Startups at Posidonia 2024

Event led by TMV and The Captain’s Table with support from Lloyd’s Register, Signal Ventures, Lomar Labs, Flagship Founders and CyberOwl to showcase 16 innovative solutions.

ATHENS, GREECE — May 20, 2024 — This year at the prestigious Posidonia shipping conference, the maritime venture capital community will come together for the first-ever Posidonia Demo Day. 

Co-hosted by The Captain’s Table and TMV, the Demo Day will showcase a select cohort of 16 innovative maritime-focused startups from around the world each pioneering advancements in crewing, decarbonization, commercial strategy, safety, energy efficiency and autonomy within the shipping industry.

Featured startups in the cohort include: 

  • 123Carbon (The Netherlands), which has a platform to manage carbon inset certificates;
  • 13 Mari (Bulgaria), which does smart hull modifications that reduce drag & fuel consumption;
  • AliciaBots (US), which does automated hull cleaning and inspection;
  • Advanced Wing Systems (Spain), which does wind assisted propulsion systems;
  • Company in stealth mode (US);
  • Closelink (Germany), which has a procurement platform for bunker fuels & marine lubricants;
  • Crewdentials (UK), which does centralising and verifying of crew credentials;
  • FrontM (UK), which has a Superapp platform shaping future of work in maritime;
  • Kaiko Systems (Germany), which does digitalisation of onboard technical operations;
  • Mythos AI (US), which does advanced automation and self-driving for vessels;
  • Sea.ai (Austria), which does machine vision for vessel collision avoidance;
  • Secro (US), which does digital e-Bills of Lading;
  • Shipskart (Singapore), which does e-commerce procurement for the maritime supply chain;
  • Signol (UK), which does nudge-tech for fuel optimisation;
  • Smart Nanotubes (Germany), which does digital gas smell detection solutions, and
  • Zero44 (Germany), which does management solutions for EU ETS and FuelEU.

Ship owners, commercial partners, investors, and other key stakeholders will have the opportunity to witness firsthand the potential of these emerging technologies through a series of short presentations. Startups will have the opportunity to engage directly with industry leaders and potential investors, opening doors to strategic partnerships and funding opportunities.
