Seawork returns for its 25th edition tomorrow, Tuesday, 11th June. Mayflower Park in Southampton is currently a hive of activity with last minute preparations for the international exhibitors, the thousands of visitors and royalty itself, with HRH The Princess Royal due to officially open the exhibition at 11.30am.
Supported by the commercial marine industry’s key associations and organisations, Seawork and Marine Civils offers a unique combination of undercover exhibition space, open air demonstrations and floating displays. HRH The Princess Royal official opening – Waterfront Restaurant time 11.30
Seawork opens its doors to visitors on Tuesday, 11th June (at 09.30) with HRH Princess Royal officially opening the exhibition at 11.30.
Get Set for Workboat 2050 and Expanding offshore windfarm capacity by 2030. How do we meet the target? 09:00 – 10:15
The latest developments in innovation and technology in the workboat sector will be discussed in these open sessions, to assist vessel operators and commercial marine businesses to decarbonise. The series will tackle the theme of what technology can be adopted to support businesses with decision-making to increase efficiency, reduce OPEX costs, and progress with sustainability plans to achieve net zero. Expert speakers will also be covering the topic ‘Expanding offshore wind farm capacity by 2030 – how do we meet the target?’.
Meet UK HM Government – opportunities & support for the UK workboat & RHIB sector. 11:30 – 14:30
Representatives from MoD DE&S Boat Team, Royal Navy and Defence and Security Accelerator (DASA) will be running a programme of sessions and networking opportunities.
WISTA UK and Seawork 2024 Women in Marine Industry Networking Event 15:00 – 17:30
In celebration of WISTA’s 50th Anniversary and the 25th Anniversary of Seawork, the exhibition will host the Seawork 2024 Women in Marine Industry event. Delegates will have the opportunity to learn from keynote speakers, ask questions during a live panel debate, and enjoy the opportunity to network with fellow industry professionals.
European Commercial Marine Awards starts at 17.30
The prestigious European Commercial Marine Awards (ECMAs), incorporating the Innovation Awards, celebrate outstanding individuals and innovative companies. Judged by a panel of industry experts, the Innovations Showcase overall winner receives the coveted ‘Spirit of Innovation Award’. To see this year’s other new award categories click here
Future Seawork Prize launch
Seawork’s latest initiative, Future Seawork, is set to accelerate inventions from the next generation of innovators.
The Future Seawork Prize for 2025 will be launched at the European Commercial Marine Awards
This prize will be awarded to three maritime projects selected from university student entries in 2025.
As a preview to the launch of the Future Seawork Prize, three projects from current university students, which have strong potential or are close to being brought to market in the commercial marine industry, will be hosted in the Innovations Hall at the exhibition

Green technology – the impact of regulatory changes for workboats and how this is driving change.
Seawork’s Cardboard Boat Regatta – waterside pontoons 5:30pm – 7:30pm
The now legendary ‘Cardboard Boat Regatta’ is a hard-fought battle to stay afloat in any craft made from cardboard! The regatta event includes live music, bar and food.

Careers and Training Day to address marine skills shortage
The commercial marine industry needs the next generation of innovators and problem solvers to help shape the future.
Seawork is delighted to be working with Maritime UK and the Solent Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) to deliver another exciting careers event on the final day of Seawork, Thursday 13th June. The dedicated Careers Fair at Seawork 2023 brought nearly 200 students and young people aged between 15 and 19 from schools, colleges, training centres and universities from across the UK to see first-hand what a job in the commercial marine industry could look like and to gain valuable insight on the opportunities available.
Seawork is also hosting a Maritime Training and Careers Pavilion, sponsored by Jobs in Maritime, which is centrally located within the exhibition halls. There is also a Maritime Training and Careers Trail that signposts visitors to specific exhibitors to explore training, employment and education opportunities in the commercial marine industry.
