Lisa Aurichio named CEO, June Chin promoted to VP,  Anna Maria Hubner promoted to Creative Services Director

August 1, 2024, Middletown, NJ–BSY Associates, Inc. (BSYA) is proud to announce today marks its 50-year anniversary as the premier marketing communications agency specializing in supply chain and logistics. In 1974, amid a predominantly male-dominated industry, Barbara Spector Yeninas founded BSYA, a pioneering move that marked the agency as one of the first woman-owned PR firms in the field of global trade and transportation.

As the agency celebrates its heritage, it also prepares for its future. To that end, BSYA has launched a celebratory logo with a tagline that reads: The past is our compass, the future is our horizon.

To ensure the agency is poised for continued growth and success, the BSYA leadership team has evolved to include the following changes: Lisa Aurichio, who has served as BSYA president and agency lead since 2018 has been promoted to President and Chief Executive Officer; June Chin has been promoted to Vice President, Client Services and Events, and Anna Maria Hubner has been named Creative Services Director. These changes are effective immediately.

“Of course, our BSYA team will forever feel the void left by the passing of our founder Barbara Yeninas. Fortunately, at Barbara’s direction, there was a succession plan in place, which included promoting and expanding the roles of members of our team as we move into the future,” said Lisa Aurichio, President and CEO, BSYA.

Celebrating 50 years as premier marcom agency in supply chain, logistics, maritime

“We celebrate our 50-year anniversary with mixed emotions. That said, we know Barbara would want us to recognize August 1, 1974, as the day she launched an agency that broke barriers and blazed a trail for women in supply chain,” said Ms. Aurichio.

Fifty years ago, BSYA was launched to fill a critical need for effective communication within the male-dominated maritime industry. The agency evolved with the needs of its global clientele to become a full-service brand-building partner, helping its clients spotlight their brand differentiators with a variety of services including public relations, advertising, social media, website development, crisis communications, media training and event planning.

Deeply knowledgeable about the supply chain and logistics industry, BSYA has worked with a broad spectrum of companies involved in every facet of world trade, including ocean carriers, equipment providers, ports, terminal operators, industry associations, trucking lines, railways and logistics tech companies. Examples of former and current clients include: Consolidated Chassis Management (CCM), Containerization & Intermodal Institute (CII), Container Maintenance Corporation-ITI-Columbia Container Services (CMC-ITI-CCS), Evergreen, Maritime Association of the Port of NY/NJ, New York/New Jersey Foreign Freight Forwarders & Brokers Association, Port Houston, Port of Hamburg, Sandy Hook Pilots, SeaCube Containers, Trade Tech and the United Seamen’s Service AOTOS Award. BSYA has also expanded its specialization to include industrial materials with clients Alumobility and Novelis.

BSYA Leadership Team Changes

Ms. Aurichio has a 30-year career in marketing communications, which began with BSYA in the early 1990s. After nearly five years with BSYA, Ms. Aurichio moved on to in-house communications with Hertz Rental Car and then shifted to Shandwick, the world’s largest PR agency and then on to Calvin Klein and Vera Wang fragrances, where she managed public relations and trade marketing. She briefly served as freelance writer/content developer and returned to BSY Associates in 2012.

June Chin, who started working with BSYA in 2016, has been promoted from Director, Client Services to Vice President, Client Services and Events. Her new role has expanded to include serving as the lead manager on events, including AOTOS, Connie Awards, the Houston International Maritime Conference (HIMC) and the International Maritime Hall of Fame Awards dinner, as well as managing day-to-day operations for clients. With a diverse background, significant time in the non-profit sector and a law degree, Ms. Chin brings a wealth of experience to her new position.

Anna Maria Hubner was promoted to Creative Services Director from Advertising and Marketing Manager, a role she has had since 2019. Ms. Hubner started her career with BSYA in the early 1990s on the advertising team. She continued to build her advertising skills while working for over a decade at Hertz Rental Car. While there, she managed multiple ad campaigns and worked with a variety of advertising mediums, including print, TV, radio and digital. She provided direction on strategy, creative, design and ad placement, which are skills she brings to her new role.

“June and Anna Maria are both ready for these promotions and expansion of their roles. They are dedicated to delivering results for our clients–and they will put in whatever extra time and effort is necessary to exceed client expectations,” said Ms. Aurichio. “They consistently anticipate client needs and identify opportunities that make them look better–which makes us look better.”
