A new production titled Tango Opera will bring together the passionate rhythms of Argentine tango and the emotional storytelling of Italian opera in a unique performance this September at Théâtre du Fort Antoine in Monaco. Inspired by a 1920s play by Argentine dramatist Armando Discepolo, the story follows an Italian immigrant in Buenos Aires facing a moral dilemma to support his family. With period costumes, lyrical singers, tango dancers, and live orchestration, the show promises a dramatic and unexpected blend of comedy, tragedy, and verismo.
