Triumph for Greek sailing at the World Para Sailing Championships held in Oman from November 30 to December 8.

Paralympic and World Champions Vasilis Christoforou (Quadriplegia) and Thodoris Alexas (Lower Limb Amputation) won the bronze medal in the RS Venture Connect category among 30 crews. Indicative of the very high competition is that all 3 medals were decided in the last race among 6 crews who were either tied or had a difference of one point.

The athletes of the Yacht Club of Greece have been competing in the RS Venture Connect category since 2022, coached by Akis Tsarouchis. This two-seater boat is considered the most modern in the field and the level of the competitions is particularly high.

The World Sailing Federation places great emphasis on inclusion and at this World Championship it surpassed all previous records in participation in both the number of athletes and the number of countries.

Another athlete from our group, Giorgos Roulias (Partial paralysis of the lower extremities), participated in the same championship in the Hansa 303 category, taking 20th place.
