Luxembourg / Athens — The oil and chemical tanker THEANOULA (IMO 9935557) has been registered under the Luxembourg flag, with the vessel’s operator confirming that a second vessel from the fleet will also join the registry in the near future.

The tanker measures 183.21 metres in length overall with a beam of 32.20 metres and operates in the international transport of oil and chemical cargoes. Built to serve the refined products and chemical trade, the vessel forms part of a fleet managed by Super Eco Tankers Management, a well-respected ship management company with significant experience in the operation of tanker vessels trading worldwide.

The registration was completed in coordination with the Commissariat aux Affaires Maritimes (Luxembourg Maritime Department), Luxembourg’s maritime administration. Stanley Maritime Luxembourg, acting as accredited maritime manager, coordinated the registration process and supported the operator during the transition of the vessel to the Luxembourg register.

Luxembourg established its maritime register in 1990 and operates under European Union jurisdiction, applying the full framework of international maritime conventions and EU maritime legislation. Over time, the registry has developed a particular presence in specialised and technically demanding vessels, including offshore construction vessels, cable-laying ships, dredgers and other complex maritime assets

Although the Luxembourg fleet remains relatively compact compared with some larger European registries, it has positioned itself as a quality-focused register with a strong presence in offshore, specialised and project vessels.

Costantino Tomasos, CEO of Super Eco Tankers Management, commented:
“We are very pleased to have THEANOULA join the Luxembourg registry. The transition process was handled efficiently and professionally, and we were impressed by the responsiveness of the administration and the clarity of the regulatory framework. Following this positive experience, we have already decided to proceed with the registration of a second vessel under the Luxembourg flag in the near future.”

The second vessel is expected to join the registry in the coming months as part of the operator’s fleet planning.

Thierry Zois, Vice President of Stanley Maritime Luxembourg, added: 1/5
“Welcoming THEANOULA to the Luxembourg fleet is an exciting moment for us. We see strong momentum building among shipowners who are looking for a high-quality European flag backed by a stable financial centre and a responsive maritime administration. This registration is only the first step, and we are confident that the coming years will bring many more success stories.”

The addition of THEANOULA reflects the continued development of Luxembourg’s maritime register and growing interest among shipowners operating in the Mediterranean tanker market.
