| For approximately 6 months, marine works involving construction of landing facility will be carried out [at Fung Wong Wat, Tolo Channel] within the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (D) and the adjacent shoreline: (A) 22 deg. 29.140’N / 114 deg. 18.556’E (B) 22 deg. 29.121’N / 114 deg. 18.559’E (C) 22 deg. 29.119’N / 114 deg. 18.545’E (D) 22 deg. 29.132’N / 114 deg. 18.543’EThe works will be conducted by a derrick lighter. One tug boat and one work boat will provide assistance.A working area of approximately 15 metres around the lighter will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the lighter.The hours of work will be from 0700 to 1900 hours. No works will be carried out on Sundays and public holidays. Vessels engaged in the works will stay in the works area outside the hours of work. Silt curtains, extending from the sea surface to the seabed, will be established within the works area. The silt curtains are large piece of netting used to contain mud and sediments. Yellow markers fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the extent of the silt curtains. Diving operations will be carried out from time to time during the hours of work. Vessels engaged in the works will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations. Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution and keep clear at slow speed, bearing in mind there are divers working in the area. | The Port of Jebel Ali is used daily by all types of vessels, including container ships, bulk carriers, tankers, barges under tow, small craft, etc. Safety in the port is of utmost importance.As part of our commitment to maintain maximum safety for the shipping business, we have put in place a revised ‘Emergency & Pollution Letter’ with immediate effect for all vessels calling Jebel Ali Port.Our objective is to enhance the level of awareness on communication procedures to be followed by Vessel Masters during emergencies and to have an in-hand record of liquids/fluids on board their vessels for any future investigations related to oil spillage by vessels calling at Jebel Ali.The Vessel Master must [also] sign and hand over the acknowledgment along with the duly filled ‘Liquid Storage Quantity Declaration Form’ to the arrival Pilot.
