International Women’s Day is celebrated world wide – even here in deepest Wales, where I am lucky enough to live. I recently came here for my health and wellbeing, since I am approaching the era of retirement and new horizons beckon.
The next generation of workers take over from us older hands, but still, in the maritime industry we are looking for more women to consider holding the traditionally male roles and show leadership. Luckily enough there are women in maritime, you only have to look at All About Shippings’ Top 100 list to see what calibre there is out there.
Let’s all work towards encouraging the younger generation, especially the women, to step into our world and join us to make their mark.
