ECSA Parliamentary Breakfast: Ensuring a people-centred transition: Upskilling and reskilling in the Shipping industry

ECSA is pleased to invite stakeholders to this breakfast meeting on reskilling and upskilling in the shipping industry.
Co-hosted by: MEP Elissavet Vozemberg-Vrionidi (EPP) and The shipping sector has to reskill 800.000 people in its workforce within the next ten years. It is essential to ensure that the industry’s workforce remains competitive and future-proof. This high-level breakfast meeting will bring together policymakers, experts and industry stakeholders to explore strategies and best practices to reskill and upskill the maritime workforce.
Education and training must adapt to and facilitate the green and digital transition.The EU-funded project SkillSea, supported by ECSA, assessed the current state of seafarer education and training in Europe. This event will explore scenarios for the future of the maritime industry and discuss educational solutions for future training of maritime professionals.
