Last Thursday night we witnessed yet another unique event organised by Life Action Trust* at The Collection down at Brompton Road in South Kensington; who wasn’t there!
Vassilakis and his three-member group, Theodoros Ziarkas, Nikos Ziarkas and Gasper Sena performed for over three hours keeping the crowds ecstatic at a full house comprised of many nationalities and age groups – 20 up to 75! Academics, diplomats, press officers from the Diplomatic Corps, lawyers, shipbrokers, journalists, shipping executives, medical doctors, economists, politicians, gallerists, architects, students, you name it where there!
Nice mezze and dips together with the enhancing element of good… spirits, appropriate for the occasion, created the atmosphere – an unforgettable event…
And …surprise surprise, Katerina Mina another world acclaimed artist, an upcoming soprano performed “Summertime” from Gershin’s opera “Porgy and Bess”. She had no rehearsal and as she said: “…we just met with the guys on the spot and I was very happy with the way the song came out in this Jazz version we performed for you”.

Vassilakis, the Greek God of saxophone has been over the last fifteen years the Greek Musician to raise with his rhapsodic style a field, a sector in music art that very few Greeks have ever touched and being so successful; I suppose is Chemical Engineering which he has studied that makes the trick! Being personally present in many of his events in London and Athens, as well as members of our international teams in the other side of the Atlantic we are honoured by his excellent performances; excellent! * Life Action Trust was founded in 1993. It was set up under private law and is based in the UK. The aim is to provide scholarships for gifted young artists, such as musicians, dancers, and actors from all over the world so that they can achieve their full potential; it also helps other charities with their fund raising. The trust has a clear policy of treating all individuals equally, regardless of their background, colour, religion or race.
The overall aim is to raise funds to support talented artists so that they could look forward to a better future.
The committee of Life Action Trust is very grateful to all who believe in and value the team’s work. The endeavours of Chrsysanthi P Lemos and her team over the last twelve years have really paid off and set a marvellous example for others to follow in supporting the arts, and in particular young artists.
