St. Nicholas, steamer, steam weekend: experience in the Maritime Museum!

Kom op stoom in Het Scheepvaartmuseum!

In the coming weeks, the Maritime Museum all on steam! On Sunday, November 19th St. Nicholas arrives by steamboat and organize fun family activities. During steam weekend of 25 and 26 November you can visit two steamships. Furthermore: We count down to Dare to Discover and look back at the Museum Night.

Sunday, November 19 is St. Nicholas by steamboat in Amsterdam at National Maritime Museum. From the quay next to the museum can see the arrival beautiful. In the museum are fun activities for the whole family.

The introduction of the steam engine has had a major impact on technology, people and society. In the particular painting (1846) by Andreas Schelfhout is a steamer center. Now on display in the exhibition Game Changers.

HISTORY MUSEUM NIGHT
November 4 was the Museum Night. More than 6,000 visitors enjoyed a fantastic evening at the Maritime Museum with workshops, mysterious stories, spy missions, and of course the Open Pleynfeest: the most beautiful dance of Museum Night. (Re) spend the evening in 1.5 minutes!

LIGHT ON THE OLDEST SHIP MODEL!
The 25th Symposium Museum found on Friday, December 15th as place. This afternoon we shine more light on the oldest Dutch ship model, circa 1560. Prof. dr. Louis Sicking is Dr. Ernst Crone Fellow model in 2015-2016 studied. Want to be present please send an email to activiteiten@hetscheepvaartmuseum.nl . Participation of members of our Association is € 15 (non-members pay € 25). Come aboard and join the Society!

OPENING HOURS
The museum, restaurant and shop are open 7 days a week from 09.00 to 17.00. Closed on January 1st (New Year), April 27 (King’s Day) and December 25 (Christmas Day 1st).
