First place for the PEGA of the Naval Academy, third victory for AFRODITI-SOLARIS

The 15 nautical miles that the sailors sailed in the third local regatta in Lipsi MERCEDES-BENZ CUP had more wind and action compared to the first 2 regattas where the swell troubled crews and skippers. With the wind ranging from 10 to 15 knots, the boats started the coastal regatta with a light northerly breeze. They passed the Kalapodia islets from the first turning point, with the wind changing as they sailed from the island of Strongyli, northeast of Leros. The fleet left Makronisi on the right to finish after almost 3 hours with the help of Aeolus. “The change in the wind favored us at Strongyli. There we rode together with the ERYTOS II and were finally able to finish first in the race,” commented Major (PZ), commander of the PEGA of the Naval Cadet School, Konstantinos Tsigkaras.

Performance: The winner will emerge in the last race

After the 3rd coastal race, everything indicates that the winner in the Performance category will emerge on the last leg from Lipsi to Finikas, Syros. And this is because the MERCEDES BENZ CUP race was won by the PEGA of the Naval Cadet School, captained by Konstantinos Tsigaras. In second place was the BANA BIOLETTA 4 of Giorgos Sykaris, with the ERYTOS II , captained by Kostas Manthos, in third place.
