NEED TO KNOW
– New mandatory requirements for anchor handling equipment, entering into force on 1 January 2026
– Applicable for new and existing anchor handling equipment
– Anchor handling survey will be harmonized with class surveys
The IMO has introduced mandatory safety requirements for anchor handling winches and the associated equipment through SOLAS Regulation II-1/3-13. The regulation enters into force on 1 January 2026.This news provides recommendations on how to plan for the new regulations.
