The Ati Annang Association of Akwa Ibom will be holding its annual international convention for the first time in the UK on July 23, 2016 at the Hilton Paddington. The event will consist of a lecture in the day with press a Q and A session and a banquet in the evening.
The keynote speaker for the event will be HE Godswill Akpabio, the former governor of Akwa Ibom Sate who is now the Minority Leader in Nigeria’s Senate.  Special Guest of Honour will be Mr Udom Emmanuel, a top banker now the Governor of Akwa Ibom State an oil rich state in Nigeria.
The lecture will be based around the fight against corruption, the renewed militancy in the Niger Delta and the economic problems facing the country. Given the current economic and geo-political problems in Nigeria, Senator Akpabio is well positioned to talk on these issues and offer insight into the current and future direction of one of Africa’s trading giants. His position as the leader of the opposition in Nigeria’s elected upper chamber is also very significant.
The Special Guest of Honour Mr Udom Emmanuel is seeking to develop partnerships with potential investors here in the UK. He has set for himself the task of industrialising the state and is regarded as the most investor friendly governor in Nigeria, bringing his private sector experience to bear on governance.
We believe this is a great platform for potential investors to meet with the Governor and discuss opportunities in the State.
