The BDI (Baltic Dry index) fell 32 points earlier on today sending the message to all those who wisely think what might be next if it goes below the 1,000 point threshold… Geopolitics: still perplexed. John Faraclas’ daily and weekly briefing:
The BDI’s weekly fall stood at 196 points thanks to the Capes major losses.
The Capes lost another triple-digit figure, 156 points were wiped off and 658 since last week’s 2,053 points…
The Panamaxes also fell both on a daily as well as on a weekly basis; the BSI stood at 1,187 points – down 15. On a weekly basis same was down 54 points – from 1,241 points…
Supras and Handies saw, on a daily basis, their respective BSI and BHSI indices lose three points – now at 1,071 and 587 points respectively. On a weekly basis the BSI gained two points – from 1,069 and the BHSI gained two points – from 590…
All in all and downwards Dry Market yet again! CAUTION!
The Wets – thank the 12 Olympian Gods,  continued to be on the rise; the last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 776 – up 15, and 558 – up 12 points respectively. Excellent results on a weekly basis were the Dirties gained 84 points – from 692 and the Cleans clinched 34 – from 524 points respectively…
The WTI fell down to US$ 67.50 – a good sign or a volatile and simultaneously a geopolitical game… Last Friday the 18th of May it stood at US$ 71.30. Now don’t …watch this space but the developments…
